The Fondation Daniel et Nina Carasso was created in early 2010 under the aegis of the Fondation de France, in memory of Daniel Carasso, founder of Danone, and his wife, Nina. It is a family foundation that is independent of the food company. On 31 October 2015, Agropolis Fondation, the Fondation Daniel & Nina Carasso and the Fondazione Cariplo signed a partnership agreement in order to launch a joint effort on the sustainability of agricultural and food systems – the Thought for Food Initiative –, placing the emphasis on the systemic, integrative nature of this topic.
