Support to the International Symposium "Plant Biodiversity and Sustainable Development

Goals

The objectives of this 3-day symposium will be to
• Promote the role of scientific communities in developing countries in the enhancement and conservation of biodiversity, in a context of biodiversity loss and climate change;
• Present best practices of cooperation, including scientists, economic operators and civil society;
• Stimulate the interest of donors to support the networks and projects already implemented;
• And to enlighten decision-makers by capitalising on the lessons learnt, particularly through the activities of the SEP and SEP2D programmes, multi-lateral research and development programmes initiated since 2006. In parallel to this international symposium, two training workshops (scientific advocacy and scientific communication in pitch format) and an e-PoP event will be held at the French Institute of Benin on 19 March 2020.
